Empowering High-Risk Pregnant Women
Aai Onsai Bithangki is an initiative initiated by the Government of Bodoland Territory Region (BTR) to address High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP). The program offers comprehensive primary health care services and financial assistance to women identified as HRP until three months after delivery. With a focus on safe maternal health, the goal is to combat challenges such as maternal and child mortality in the BTR region.

Financial Assistance Program
Between 2022 and 2023, BTR identified over 33,000 live births, with more than 15% (approximately 5000+) classified as High-Risk Pregnancies. HRP is characterized by a higher-than-normal chance of complications for both the woman and the foetus, often associated with preexisting maternal conditions. AOB aims to reduce maternal and infant mortality by promoting safe pregnancy and motherhood, providing Comprehensive Primary Health Care Services (CPHCS) throughout the 1000-day journey, and offering financial assistance to women identified as HRP until three months from the childbirth.

Objectives of Aai Onsai Bithangki
Reduce maternal and infant mortality by providing cash incentives to offset costs associated with mitigation of risks, treatment, and emergency travel to medical centres for pregnant women identified with high-risk conditions.
Promote safe pregnancy & safe motherhood by continuously tracking pregnant women with high-risk conditions and ensuring that BEmONC and CEmONC healthcare services are provided to them.

Empowering high-risk pregnant women through financial assistance and comprehensive support programs.
