Conditions and Risk Factors of High-Risk Pregnant Women

The beneficiaries to be enrolled under the programme are pregnant women with one or more of the following conditions/ risk factors -

  1. High BP (>140/90 mmHg).

  2. Pre-Eclampsia (High BP as above with Urine Proteins+).

  3. Severe Pre-Eclampsia (Symptoms like headache, swelling, blurring of vision and BP > 140/110 with Urine Proteins 3+ or 4+).

  4. Eclampsia (Fits/Convulsions with high BP).

  5. Syphilis/ HIV positive.

  6. High Blood Glucose or symptoms of Diabetes mellitus (more urine, more thirst, more hunger).

  7. Swelling on neck or symptoms of Hypothyroidism (Increase in weight, thick skin, laziness).

  8. 1st pregnancy with age less than 20 years or more than 35 years.

  9. More than 1 baby in abdomen on palpation or by Ultrasound.

  10. Malpresentation (Baby’s head not in normal position in uterus).

  11. Caesarean Operation done in earlier delivery.

  12. Placenta not in normal position on ultrasound.

  13. Bleeding.

  14. Still birth/Abortion/Premature birth/Baby with malformation in earlier delivery.

  15. Blood Group found Rh Negative.

  16. PCOS/PCOD (PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome/PolyCystic Ovarian Disease).
